Thanks, Ellie! You are so right in that experiences like this are so much more fulfilling and engaging than the standard “top 10” lists. In addition to working with Context Travel on this project, we’ve also taken Deep Travel and walking tours with them in Cartagena, Colombia and a few other cities. We often learn so much more and have a deeper connection to the place than we could have imagined thanks to the expertise and passion of their docents.

We love what you have done with Context to set this up and show the way :-). We went on a Context trip in London recently and were very impressed with the quality of guides they work with and different angles they offer to explore a city – much more interesting than the typical “trip advisor top 10”!! – So would also recommend them!

Thanks so much for this post. This is the second blog article I’ve written that takes about Afghan food. There seems to be a huge splash of tons of goodness with the cinnamon, almonds, and other nuts. The project your doing sounds amazing. Syrian and Afghan food sounds interesting and I would definitely do a tour and try out the restaurants of refugee chefs. That’s the greatness of diverse population, well one of them. Food I’d love to see where all this goes. Looking forward to participating with Cooking Across Borders one day. Thanks of the discount as well!
Cheers,
