Bruce: It’s probably best to ask the hotel where you are staying (Saigon is quite large and sprawling and times and distances between various neighborhoods and Saigon / Ho Chi Minh City airport will vary). Your hotel should be able to tell you the best options for travel from the airport, plus expected time and cost. We recommend getting their perspective first. If it seems reasonable, go with that.
