Thanks, Drew. How was your trip to Kyoto? Did you eat well?

Korea is on our list. Will definitely let you know when we’re headed that way.

At the top of the Japanese Soups entry, there’s a photo of ramen from Tenkaippin, which is one of the ramen chains in Japan.

If you have additional information or context to share regarding ramen noodles in Japan, please do!

Love it so much, the flavours, and sometimes even the way it’s eaten! Everything is so gracious and nuanced. Speaking of the Osaka-style okonomiyaki, there is this amazing shop next to the serviced apartments I stayed in while I was there (Fraser Residence Osaka, just off Namba station) that sells amazing okonomiyaki. You should try it if you have the chance!Reading your post brings back great memories! And the pictures look delicious too.

And our visit barely scratched the surface of all the facets and meaning of Japanese food presentation.

Happy takoyaki-seeking.

@Mika: Excellent. That was the aim: cover Japanese food as wide as we could, but also give some guidance and tips. It’s a broad subject. Have fun, eat well and let us know how it goes!

@Bessie: Good times! Definitely remember the takoyaki. In fact, just recommended Otafuku above. Glad you liked the curation. It was a bit of an effort to pick and choose, and distill it all into something vaguely intelligible and actionable (edible?). Glad it worked!
